David’s kindness to Mephibosheth in 2 Samuel 9 gives us a picture of grace. After experiencing God’s generosity in his own life, David looks for someone he can bless and welcomes Mephibosheth—someone who expected judgment—to the king’s table as family. In the same way, we have received grace we could never earn through Jesus, and we are called to let that grace overflow into the lives of others. We are both receivers of God’s grace and givers of His grace.
