The Gospel of John-Day 38

John 10:1-5 Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door but climbs in by another way, that man is a thief and a robber. But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the gatekeeper opens. The sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. A stranger they will not follow, but they will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.”

There are so many voices. So many empty words. So many airwaves filling time. So many strong takes - hot takes - crude takes. So many critics and salespeople and liars and boasters and flatterers. This roar is deafening.

In the midst of the noise, find an oasis, even a momentary one, and be still. Open the Bible. (Suggestion: start with Luke). Talk to God and listen for His reply. Can you hear it?

He knows you.
He loves you.
He accepts you.
He sent Jesus to die (and be resurrected) for you.
He will forgive you.
He will work in you.
He will work through you.
He has a future for you.

Those are words of life. They are words that sustain and strengthen. This is our hope, found only in Jesus. Have you forgotten? Listen for His voice. It changes everything.
