Galatians: Day 7

Galatians 2:19-21 For through the law I died to the law, so that I might live to God. I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose.

Christian baptism is such a beautiful picture. There is no greater thrill than watching someone go under the water and then emerge again. Somehow, in that split second, something incredible happens.

When you are baptized into Jesus , you enter into a powerful union. You give yourself to Him, and you take His name, and you become one with Him. In Romans 6, Paul uses a Greek agricultural word thatmeans we’ve been engrafted into the root. You are inserted into the very roots of Jesus’ life. His past is now your past. His future is now your future. You died in Him. You rose in Him. You’re seated at the right hand of God in Him. You are one with Him.
